A Change of Scenery: Photographs of Leisure in the Landscape is a 2023 exhibit at the Cantor Arts Center, Stanford University which says: "Change of Scenery: Photographs of Leisure in the Landscape surveys ways of "being" in the landscape, encompassing common activities like sight-seeing, recreation, and play, and affective states like joy, intimacy, affinity, and belonging. Featuring approximately 55 American photographs from the 19th and 20th centuries from the Cantor collection depicting people in various outdoor public spaces, this single-gallery exhibition considers the importance of access to nature and leisure, what access entails, and how it shapes identity." The Open Road: Photography and the American Road Trip is a 2018 exhibit at the Telfair Museums which says: "The Open Road: Photography and the American Road Trip explores the photographic road trip as a genre. It traces the rise of road culture in America and looks at photographers on the move across the country and across the century, from the early 1900s to present day. Presented chronologically, the exhibition considers nineteen photographers for whom the American road was a muse." Accessed 6/18

South Beach, 1977-1986: Photographs by Gary Monroe is a 2019 exhibit at the Frost (Patricia and Phillip) Art Museum, Florida International University which says: "In 1977, Gary Monroe embarked on a decade-long project to photograph the aging Jewish community in South Beach. He had grown up around this community and sought to capture the vibrancy and slow decline of this close-knit neighborhood." Resource Library is a free online publication of nonprofit Traditional Fine Arts Organization (TFAO). Since 1997, Resource Library and its predecessor Resource Library Magazine have cumulatively published online 1,300+ articles and essays written by hundreds of identified authors, thousands of other texts not attributable to named authors, plus 24,000+ images, all providing educational and informational content related to American representational art. Texts and related images are provided almost exclusively by nonprofit art museum, gallery and art center sources.

All published materials provide educational and informational content to students, scholars, teachers and others. Most published materials relate to exhibitions. Materials may include whole exhibition gallery guides, brochures or catalogues or texts from them, perviously published magazine or journal articles, wall panels and object labels, audio tour scripts, play scripts, interviews, blogs, checklists and news releases, plus related images.

What you won't find:

User-tracking cookies are not installed on our website. Privacy of users is very important to us. You won't find annoying banners and pop-ups either. Our pages are loaded blazingly fast. Resource Library contains no advertising and is 100% non-commercial. .
