Old California

The California Art Club Gallery, a nonprofit art gallery located at the historic Old Mill in San Marino, California is presenting the exhibition "Old California" through June 4, 2000. On view are original paintings and sculptures inspired by the romance and hardships that built a land named after the 16th century Spanish fable describing the treasure island, "California." The exhibition is featuring prominent genre and figure artists of the California Art Club (CAC): Kalan Brunink, William George, Dan Goozeé, Joseph Mendez, Joel Phillips, Vic Riesau, and early CAC artist, Theodore Lukits (1897-1992). The California Art Club Gallery features unique exhibitions by early and contemporary artists of the California Art Club. Each exhibition is based on a designated theme, and represents artists who are specifically selected according to their strengths in creating a body of work that best describes the theme. Gallery exhibitions are curated on a quarterly basis and introduce an entirely new group of artists for each exhibition. All works are available for sale, with proceeds benefitting the artist, the Old Mill Foundation, and the California Art Club.
