The American Society of Marine Artists is a national organization founded in 1978. Its objective is to recognize and promote marine art and history, and to encourage cooperation among artists, historians, marine enthusiasts and others engaged in activities related to marine art and maritime history. Members can participate in national exhibitions, held every two years, and frequently enter regional shows such as this one. More that 200 members belong to ASMA's Western Division. This is their first exhibition at the Maritime Museum.

There will be a Meet the Artists reception on Saturday August 5 at 7 pm.
