Peter H. Hassrick is Founding Director Emeritus of the Charles M. Russell Center for the Study of Art of the American West at the University of Oklahoma. He was Curator of Art at the Amon Carter Museum, Fort Worth, Texas, 1969-75; Director of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, Cody, Wyoming, 1976-96; and Founding Director of The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He has written or co-authored four major books on Remington and Russell, including the monumental two-volume Frederic Remington: A Catalogue Raisonné.
