As of July, 2021, no new listings from sources other than Resource Library are being created without a prior Resource Library listing. Also, existing listings not accompanied by a Resource Library listing are being deleted because Google search results for historic American artists are much more compete than in prior America's Distinguished Artists audit years. Also, the Google algorithm year over year is more accurately placing the most relevant URLs on its primary search results page.
Not shown in America's Distinguished Artists audit worksheets are references from Resource Library with essays or articles by a named author; Wikipedia entries; artists listed only as outside Resource Library. Where no additional reference from a Resource Library article (not solely dedicated to this artist) is found by search, the name is not placed on the audit list.
Recognition to volunteers
TFAO greatly appreciates the efforts made by volunteers to improve the America's Distinguished Artists catalogue. TFAO will acknowledge volunteers who contribute new listings on the appropriate page.
