One of the major figures in 20th century American art, Andy Warhol (1928-1987) is probably best known for his flamboyant, multiple silkscreen prints that explore the icons of popular culture: celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe and Jacqueline Onassis, Coca Cola bottles, dollar bills, and the famous Campbell's Soup can. This exhibition brings to the Michener Art Museum some of Warhol's most celebrated images, drawn from the collection of and organized by the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA.
