Appropriately titled, this exhibition showcases a suite of local landscapes painted "in open air" by James Mullen.
Mullen, a former professor of painting and foundation at the Savannah College of Art and Design, has recently joined Evansville University in Evansville, Indiana, where he will teach painting, sculpture and drawing.
According to the artist, the paintings are a result of his appreciation "of both the coastal climate and its surrounding environs." Mullen's interpretations of Savannah's sense of light and the cultivation of the landscape are a treat for fans of Iandscape paintings and admirers of the panoramic coastal empire.
The Regional Arts Gallery is open the same hours as the Owens-Thomas House: Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 2-5 p.m. All facilities are closed Mondays.
Incorporating the Owens-Thomas House and Carriage House
and the Telfair Academy of Arts & Sciences, the Telfair Museum of Art

fund provided by the Georgia Council for the Arts through the appropriations
of the Georgia General Assembly and by Chatham County.
