Eiteljorg Museum 1998 Indian Market
This hand-pulled print on paper by Dewayne Mathews (Cherokee/Chickasaw) is one example of the many drawings, paintings and prints that will be for sale at the Indian Market. This piece is called "Continuum, Mound Builder Heritage." Mathews, one of the foremost Native American printmakers in the country, is one of a growing number of Native American artists who research their early culture for inspiration and accuracy.
Several of the beadworkers coming to this year's Indian Market do
traditional work, such as this cradleboard, that are of museum quality.
This beaded cradleboard is made of beads and Indian-tanned deerskin on a
wood frame.

Cost: Tickets are $9 at the gate and $5 if purchased in advance. The ticket price includes museum admission. Children 12 and under are free.
