Outdoor murals post-inquiry information request
After we receive and approve your letter of inquiry, we request the following:
-- surface area to be covered, influenced by pedestrian and/or vehicle traffic
-- available traffic data from local jurisdiction if mural oriented to vehicle traffic and available pedestrian data if pedestrian orientation
-- vinyl, UV resistant ink and protective coating specs
-- estimate of years before image quality and materials will materially deteriorate due to weather and UV radiation
-- planned installation timing and years of display
-- choice of image(s), size, visualization of placement, based on one of our topics
-- targeted audience(s) including assurance that the mural is suitable for general audiences
-- timetable and work plan for implementation (with beginning and ending dates of project)
-- criteria for success and plans for evaluating the project at completion
-- estimate of third party costs including itemized costs of components contracted with outside vendors
-- amount of funds requested from us and their proposed use
-- assurance of: compliance with city ordinances, avoidance of vehicle traffic distraction and animal disorientation,
Images of paintings may be "framed" by three dimensional materials, trompe l'oeil or left unframed, and may reach wall edges. Images must depict paintings in the permanent collection of the museum. or promised gifts.
In consideration of our co-sponsorship, "Traditional Fine Arts Organization" will be included on the exhibition's marketing and onsite/online informative materials.
