2023 American Art History Deep Dive Project, Part Four

Publicly Available Names, Titles and Email Addresses of Development Directors

In this project, our freelancer will discover and forward to us four-part data sets: 1. full name of the staff Deveopment Director (DD); 2. her/his title; 3. name of employing museum or cultural center; 4. email address of the DD at this project's listed museums and cultural senters (institutions). Our president will use these sets of data to invite DDs to submit email letters of inquiry for exhibition co-sponsorship opportunities available from us. To become aquainted with our president's authorship, see this list of his published essays in our Resource Library, a collection of articles and essays honoring the American experience through its art.

Who Should Apply

Interested freelancers will primarily desire to educate the public about American representational art. Remuneration for the work involved will be a secondary motive.

Freelancers must be familiar with structures of institutions' websites plus URL and email terminology including: domain, folder, pathway, subdirectory, directory, file name, page path and clear text.

Underlying Motive

To better understand a key motive leading up to this contract opportunity, following is a quote from our strategy and preferences describing our Museum Exhibition grant preferences:

"From the early 21st century through the present time, thousands of American representational art exhibits have focused on human behavior. We sense that the ratio of exhibits devoted to modern iterations of virtues and vices has tilted towards exposition of vices.

During 2023 and 2024, we are:

- providing grants for exhibits aimed at rebalancing the ratio;

- will therefore focus on artistic expression based on virtues that lift peoples' spirits;

- looking for expression of virtues such as kindness, empathy, gratitude, healing, humility, industriousness, courage in battle, maternal and paternal love;

- amenable to exhibits featuring natural beauty through depictions of fauna, flora, and landscape."

Included Institutions

Our freelancer will study institutions within our Calendar Update Schedule: A-C D-G H-L M-Q R-S T-Z. These institutions comprise our active exhibit study list. They have been vetted to have online exhibit posts with three important elements qualifying them for our periodic review. We regularly review these institutions' exhibit posts to see if we want to include them in our American Representational Art exhibit citations. The source of DD data sets are websites of these institutions. Hint: data set information is usually available through the "About Us" tab on the website front page. Within this tab's information is often another tab leading to the information we seek. Other parts of an institution's site may also contain our desired information.

Included employees

The institution's Deveopment Director may also be titled "Chief Development Officer" or "Advancement Director" or another title indicating the head of the development department. Not acceptable are names of assistants or persons not employed directly by the institution. We want only one data set per institution. We will not accept the main email address of the institution. Proprietary email addresses will not be sought by our freelancer.

Alternate Data Sets

If four-part data sets are not available because no individual is named as head of the development department, we will accept as a three-part data set the name of the institution, development department name, and email address of the development department. We want only one data set per institution. We will not accept the main email address of the institution. Proprietary email addresses will not be sought by our freelancer.

Payment Terms

We will pay our freelancer $3.00 USD for each acceptable data set, up to 100 data sets in total. This equals up to $300 USD.

There will be four milestones for the project consisting of 25 sets per milestone. Our freelancer will submit and have approved by us all twenty-five data sets before we escrow the funds for that milestone.

Each batch of 25 sets will be emailed to johnphazeltine@gmail.com with a copy to info@tfaoi.org. Each batch will be formatted only in plain text, excluding formats such as .pdf and .doc files.

Before we enter a contract, each applicant for this contract will send three trial sets for our approval. If we approve those sets, and subsequently enter into a contract, those sets will be included towards the first milestone. The project must be completed within one month of its initiation.

If our freelancer provides 300 approved data sets in total, and we find that there are a large number of institutions not yet studied, we may create another contract to compliment this one.
